Educational Objectives
of the Festival
This site is an integral part of the Festival of Ephemeral Arts
which is being run in various parts of the United Kingdom by Asian
Arts Access. You can see the some of the most important aspects
of the Festival by viewing this site and then visiting the Festival
at a location near you. Please contact Asian Arts Access
for details.
The Festival has been designed to provide educational benefits
to UK based schools, teachers and libraries. There are various
elements of practical work which can be reproduced in the classroom.
You can do this by using the Teachers Resource Pack.
A special resource pack has been developed for teachers interested
in using the ephemeral arts as a vehicle for teaching the following:
- How the ephemeral arts can be created in the classroom to
meet the needs of the UK National Curriculum
- Details of the various community and religious festivals which
inspire ephemeral arts
- Photographs of selected arts for use in the classroom
- Guide to sources, references and other Websites
- Commentary on the use of ephemeral arts for education, entertainment
and information
- Invitation to teachers to join the Festival development programme

Invitation
We are also interested in working with other collaborators in UK.
Enquiries are welcome from artists who wish to submit their work
for inclusion in the site. Research libraries and picture suppliers
are also invited to contact Asian Arts Access to extend the range
of materials hosted on the site. Full credits will be given.
We also aim to assist collaborators to achieve their objectives
for arts development where they are compatible with those of Asian
Arts Access and the Festival. Please use the feedback form to
contact the Festival Director.
